Day 24: anaphora in one

One
one song
one song at the coming of morning
one song over the water
one voice and then another
one

one
one day
one day when the soldiers go too far
one day of decision long fermenting
one step and then another
one

one
one world
one world where gibbons dance
one world of flowers firing deserts
one wonder and still another
one

one
one wind
one wind dispersing radiant ashes
one wind lifting butterfly after butterfly
one path scribed and here another
one

one
one wave
one wave through molten metals
one wave breaking mountains
one stone becomes another
one

one
one god
one god to capture in cathedrals
one god to assign the blame
one plunder in the name of another
one

still, over the water arising
one song.

Yesterday, the muse was silent in the morning, and the day carried me away, and I couldn’t make it back to the page until this morning.
